Coca-Cola Türkiye lowers sales forecast amid Gaza boycott
In the mid of an ongoing boycott of Coca-Cola products because of the situation in Gaza, Coca-Cola Türkiye has revised its full-year sales volume expectations.
The company announced via the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that it has adjusted its forecast from “mid-single-digit growth” to “flat to low-single-digit growth.”
This announcement follows heightened consumer caution and prolonged sensitivities in the Middle East, which have significantly impacted the company’s sales projections.
“Due to the sensitivities and consumer caution in the Middle East, which have lasted longer than expected, we are revising our full-year sales volume expectations,” Coca-Cola stated.
Starbucks’ CEO resigned
In a related development, Starbucks, another company facing boycotts for its support of Israel, recently experienced a leadership change.
On Aug. 13, Starbucks announced that CEO Laxman Narasimhan had resigned from his positions as CEO and board member.
He has been succeeded by Brian Niccol, the former CEO of Chipotle. This change comes amid growing criticism and backlash against the company.
