Türkiye-based digital banking platform Enpara.com, widely used by young people and foreign residents, notified customers on Wednesday about an upcoming IBAN change as it prepares to separate from its parent company, QNB Finansbank.

Having operated under QNB Finansbank since 2012, the platform will retain existing account numbers after the transition. However, a new bank code will require customers to use updated International Bank Account Numbers (IBANs).

Customer action required: Share new IBANs promptly

In a statement, Enpara urged customers to promptly share their updated IBAN details with individuals and institutions that send them regular payments, in order to avoid disruptions following its transition to Enpara Bank. The change is required due to the adoption of a new bank code, which will render previous QNB Finansbank IBANs obsolete, although account numbers will remain unchanged.

In a public statement, Enpara warned that continued use of outdated IBANs could result in failed transfers unless customers take the required action in advance. “After the transfer, we expect you to share your new IBANs quickly with those who regularly send you money,” the company stated.

Temporary automatic forwarding for EFT and SWIFT transfers

To ease the transition, Enpara is offering a temporary automatic redirection service for incoming transfers. Customers who submit a specific instruction ahead of the transition will have electronic fund transfers (EFT) and international wire payments (SWIFT) to their old IBANs automatically forwarded to their new Enpara Bank accounts. “If you give an instruction before the transfer date, QNB Bank will automatically forward such transfers to your account at Enpara Bank for 90 days, free of charge,” the statement said.

However, the bank emphasized that without this instruction, incoming EFT and SWIFT transfers to old IBANs will be returned to the sender. Customers will be able to submit the necessary instruction via Enpara’s mobile banking app approximately one month prior to the transition date, with reminder notifications to be issued in due course.

FAST and money transfers excluded from auto-forwarding

Enpara also clarified that the redirection service will not apply to FAST transactions—Türkiye’s instant payment system—or to same-bank transfers, referred to locally as “havale.” These transaction types are processed in real time and rely on immediate verification of IBAN data.

“These transactions will be automatically rejected, as the system notifies the sender immediately when an incorrect IBAN is entered,” the bank stated. As a result, the forwarding instruction will not be valid for FAST or havale transfers.

The platform reiterated the importance of updating payment contacts and sharing new IBANs as early as possible.

Founded in 2012, Enpara.com operates as a digital-only banking service and has grown to become one of Türkiye’s leading fintech platforms, particularly favored by young people and foreign residents for its mobile-first approach and fee-free services. The platform is currently operated under QNB Finansbank, a major Turkish bank owned by Qatar National Bank (QNB Group), the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa by total assets.
