Honda Türkiye has announced a new motorcycle production facility in the Aliaga district of Izmir, targeting an annual capacity of 100,000 units.
The factory, set to begin operations in mid-2026, represents a ₺760 million ($18.7 million) investment and will employ around 300 people.
The new facility will be built on a 100,000-square-meter site and is expected to initially produce 100,000 motorcycles annually. Honda aims to increase production to 200,000 units in the coming years, depending on market demand.
The investment, equivalent to approximately 2.94 billion Japanese yen, marks a strategic move to meet growing demand in Türkiye’s motorcycle market and to boost regional manufacturing capacity.
Driven by post-pandemic demand for personal and corporate mobility, Türkiye’s motorcycle market has seen significant expansion. Honda Türkiye recorded a record 162,000 motorcycle sales in 2024, prompting the company to accelerate its investment plans.
The company said the factory would contribute to sustainable market growth and support the development of motorcycle culture in Türkiye.
Honda emphasized that the investment is also part of a broader strategy to strengthen regional production networks and provide high-quality, accessible, and attractive products to consumers.
The facility will play a key role in improving supply chain efficiency across the region and advancing Honda’s long-term presence in Türkiye’s growing two-wheeler segment.
