The undersea rail transportation system connecting the European and Asian sides of Istanbul, Marmaray, set a new daily passenger record on Dec. 20, serving 743,596 people, Türkiye's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, announced.
Year-to-date, Marmaray has transported over 196 million passengers, with a daily average of 600,000 passengers, Uraloglu stated in a written announcement.
