Chiliz, a global blockchain provider for sports and entertainment, has announced a strategic partnership with Paribu, one of Türkiye’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges.
The strategic partnership merges the Paribu Net blockchain with the Chiliz Chain, bringing over 250,000 existing wallets into the Chiliz ecosystem.
As part of the merger, Paribu’s Ethereum-based fan tokens, including those issued for the football clubs Besiktas (BJK) and Fenerbahce (FB), will be migrated to the Chiliz Chain.
The move aims to consolidate Türkiye’s fan token community under the global Chiliz infrastructure, which already operates with international sports teams.
Paribu Token (PRB) holders will see their assets converted into Chiliz’s native token (CHZ) through the upcoming “Pepper 8” network fork.
Newly issued CHZ will be distributed to PRB holders, after which the Paribu Net blockchain will be discontinued.
The transition will mark the full integration of Paribu’s ecosystem into Chiliz. The token conversion process will temporarily increase the supply of CHZ.
However, a deflationary cycle beginning in the third year is designed to offset this expansion.
By the eighth year, the total supply is expected to return to its original schedule, ensuring no long-term deviation from Chiliz’s planned economic framework.
Executives from both companies highlighted the partnership as a step toward strengthening Türkiye’s role in SportFi, the intersection of sports and decentralized finance.
“Türkiye is at the heart of the global SportFi movement, and partnering with a trusted industry leader like Paribu marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for us,” said Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz.
Paribu CEO Yasin Oral added that the exchange’s long-standing role in supporting Chiliz made the merger a natural progression, stating that the integration will create “a stronger, more integrated ecosystem for Turkish sports fans and the broader crypto space.”
Paribu has been a core participant in the Chiliz ecosystem for several years, serving as a validator on the Chiliz Chain and being one of the first exchanges to list both the CHZ token and fan tokens.
The new partnership extends this relationship by aligning both platforms under a single blockchain framework.
