Turkish Airlines transported 34 million passengers and 836,200 tons of cargo in the first five months of 2025, according to data released by the company on Wednesday.
The figures represent a 3.7% year-over-year increase in passenger traffic and a 2.7% rise in cargo and mail volume. During the same period, the airline’s total available seat kilometers (ASK)—a key indicator of flight capacity—grew 5.2% to 105.2 billion.
The carrier’s overall occupancy rate stood at 81.2% from January through May. Domestic flights recorded a load factor of 83.5%, while international routes achieved 81%. The number of international transfer passengers—those connecting through Turkish Airlines hubs—rose from 12.5 million in the same period of 2024 to 13.6 million in 2025, an 8.7% increase.
In May alone, Turkish Airlines carried 7.6 million passengers, with an overall occupancy rate of 81.1%. The number of international transfer passengers climbed 11.2% year-over-year to reach 2.8 million. The airline’s ASK for the month rose 6% to 22.6 billion, compared to 21.3 billion in May 2024.
Occupancy remained strong across markets, with international routes recording a load factor of 80.6% and domestic flights reaching 86%.
Cargo and mail volume also posted steady gains. Turkish Airlines moved 183,400 tons in May 2025, up 5.1% from the same month last year. As of the end of May, the airline’s fleet consisted of 484 aircraft, maintaining its position as one of the leading carriers worldwide.
