Four Turkish companies—state-run telecommunications firms Turkcell and Turk Telekom, flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and Zorlu Holding—have entered TIME magazine’s 2025 World’s Best Companies ranking, bringing the number of companies from Türkiye on the list to six.
Sabanci Holding recorded the highest placement among Turkish companies at 131st, followed by Koc Holding at 161st, Turkcell at 219th, Turkish Airlines at 314th, Turk Telekom at 441st, and Zorlu Holding at 501st.
Compared with 2024, when only four Turkish firms made the list, this year marks a broader presence. In 2024, Sabanci and Koc were positioned lower, and Turkish lender Akbank, together with construction firm Enka, was included, though they did not return in 2025.
TIME reported that five of this year’s Turkish companies achieved what it described as very high revenue growth, pointing to stronger global momentum.
Nvidia, which became the first publicly traded company to reach a market capitalization of $4 trillion this summer, took the top position in the 2025 ranking, as the U.S. chipmaker continues to benefit from rapid growth in artificial intelligence demand and steady results from its gaming division.
Microsoft followed in second place, while JPMorgan Chase, Alphabet, and Amazon were also positioned among the leading global firms.
Apple, which held the top spot in 2024, was absent from this year’s ranking after reporting revenue declines between 2022 and 2024, a drop attributed to slower progress in artificial intelligence compared with its competitors.
The ranking also reflected sector-wide achievements beyond technology.
Sportswear company Nike climbed to the highest position in its industry, while Danish pharmaceutical group Novo Nordisk maintained leadership in diabetes and weight-loss treatments.
German carmaker Volkswagen, Spanish bank BBVA, and Dutch-based aerospace group Airbus also secured top places.
The list further included American firms such as Cigna, Ford and General Motors, as well as German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom and French energy management group Schneider Electric.
Being one of the most renowned news magazines, U.S.-based TIME publishes its World’s Best Companies ranking annually in collaboration with Statista, evaluating global firms on employee satisfaction, revenue growth, and sustainability transparency.
