Turkish engineering and energy company YEO Teknoloji Enerji announced Monday a new international partnership in Romania to expand its renewable energy footprint through a major solar investment.
In a statement released to Türkiye’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), YEO Teknoloji confirmed that its majority-owned subsidiary, DEFIC Globe Enerji, has signed a partnership agreement with a Switzerland-based investment firm. The deal aims to jointly invest in three separate solar power plants in Romania, with a combined installed capacity of 105 megawatt-peak (MWp).
According to the disclosure, the agreement will take effect following approval by Romania's Competition Council and the completion of other required legal formalities.
Under the terms of the partnership, 50% of the shares in the Romanian subsidiaries will be transferred to the Swiss partner, while DEFIC Globe will retain the remaining 50%.
The statement also noted that YEO Group will undertake the complete engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the solar projects. This includes engineering services, the construction of high-voltage transformer substations, and the development of energy transmission lines—delivering the facilities on a turnkey basis.
YEO Teknoloji has been increasingly active in forging international collaborations in the renewable energy sector. The company had previously signed joint venture agreements with Shanghai Electric Power of China for a 129 MWp project and with Norwegian firm Scatec for a 190 MWp solar plant.
With the new Romanian deal, the total solar capacity from YEO’s international partnerships now stands at 419 MWp.
Founded in 2004, YEO Teknoloji Enerji ve Endustri A.S. is a Türkiye-based company operating in more than 30 countries across three continents, with a workforce of over 620 employees.
