Türkiye has attracted $8.5 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) between January and October this year, according to the International Investors Association (YASED).

In October alone, Türkiye received $770 million in FDI, the association reported in a press release Thursday. Although the year-to-date figure marks a 1% decline compared to the same period in 2023, the total value of FDI inflows to Türkiye since 2002 has now surpassed $272 billion.

European Union (EU) countries, which accounted for 58% of FDI flows to Türkiye from 2002 to 2023, represented 49% of the FDI in October. Germany was the largest contributor, with 23% of the total, followed by the Netherlands at 16%, the United Kingdom at 15%, and the United States, also at 15%.

Among the top investors for the January to October period, the Netherlands led with $885 million, followed by Germany with $598 million and the United States with $524 million.

YASED's data highlights the continued importance of European and American investors in Türkiye's economy, despite the slight decline in overall FDI compared to the previous year.
