Türkiye's Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacir, announced the launch of a "Domestic Nuclear Reactor Development Call," marking a new step in the country's nuclear energy ambitions.
The initiative aims to develop high-technology reactors using Turkish industry's domestic production capabilities, with contributions from TENMAK and TUBITAK institutes and universities, to strengthen energy security and reduce foreign dependency.

Minister Kacir stated through his social media account that the National Technology Initiative aims to meet high energy demands from artificial intelligence to defense and from chemistry to steel with domestic, carbon-free, and uninterrupted solutions.
"With the 'Domestic Nuclear Reactor Development Call' we have launched, we aim to bring high-technology reactors to our country that will strengthen our energy security, reduce foreign dependency, and contribute to our net zero emission target, through the domestic production competencies of Turkish industry, with contributions from TENMAK and TUBITAK institutes and our universities," Kacir said.
The minister emphasized that Türkiye is forging its own path in nuclear energy technologies, reinforcing its independence and power.
