Türkiye-based ground services provider Celebi Aviation has officially commenced operations at Indonesia’s two busiest airports, Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport and Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

The two airports together handled more than 60 million passengers between January and October 2025. Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport processed over 20 million domestic and international passengers, the company stated.

Celebi scales up in Indonesia with 6.1M passenger target

Celebi projects that its operations will support up to 1,800 flights and 650,000 passengers annually in Bali, and 4,500 flights and 1.6 million passengers in Jakarta. The company currently employs more than 150 staff in Bali and over 200 in Jakarta.

Murali Ramachandran, Celebi aviation head for Southeast Asia, said the dual launch required "not only a robust operational infrastructure, but also strong regional foresight and coordination." He added, "This structure reflects Celebi Aviation’s ability to integrate its global experience with local needs."

Andy Dias, general manager of Celebi Aviation Indonesia, noted that the new operations complement existing services at 25 airports across the country and reflect a long-term commitment to the market. "Through structured training programs under the Celebi Aviation Academy, we are investing in local talent with certified content and hands-on experience," he said.

Celebi stock rebounds following Indonesia news

The company’s shares, listed on Borsa Istanbul, which were heavily hit in May 2025 after India revoked security clearance for its Indian unit, rose over 11% in two days following the announcement.

It also previously completed the acquisition of Transglobal Cargo Centre Ltd. (TCC), a ground-handling operator at Kenya’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, for $40 million.
