Türkiye’s exports climbed to an all-time monthly high of $22.6 billion in September, marking a 3% year-over-year increase, Trade Minister Omer Bolat said Thursday.
Speaking at a press conference in Ankara, Bolat said annualized exports also reached a record level in September, rising 3.2% to $269.7 billion.
Bolat said exports in the first nine months of 2025 totaled $200.6 billion, up 4.1% compared to the same period last year.
“In the first nine months of this year, we recorded an $8.3 billion increase in overall exports compared to the same period of last year,” he noted.
He added that in 20 of the last 28 months, goods exports increased, with monthly records achieved in 16 of those months.
Türkiye’s imports also rose in September, climbing 8.8% year-over-year to $29.5 billion. The increase pushed the monthly foreign trade deficit to $6.9 billion, a 33.4% rise compared to a year earlier.
For the January–September period, imports amounted to $67 billion, up 11.8% on an annual basis. The annualized foreign trade deficit stood at $89.3 billion in September, a 13.5% increase from the previous year.
Bolat emphasized, however, that Türkiye’s monthly foreign trade deficit has narrowed in 16 of the last 28 months, pointing to what he described as “signs of improvement” in trade balance trends.
“We reached the goods and services export target of $390 billion in September, which we set at the beginning of the year,” Bolat said.
