Turkish conglomerate Ihlas Holding has launched a corporate social responsibility program in Kyrgyzstan by donating 30 vehicles to public institutions through its subsidiary Orta Asya Investment Holding, as part of a broader initiative linked to its $6.3 billion energy projects in the country.

The donation marks the first step in a five-year social support program unveiled by Orta Asya Investment Holding.

At a handover ceremony held in the capital Bishkek Tuesday, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev personally delivered the vehicle keys to the relevant agencies.

Ihlas Holding plans wider social responsibility program in Kyrgyzstan

The distribution included 11 vehicles for the Ministry of Energy, six each for the Ministries of Interior, Water Resources, Agriculture and Industry, and individual vehicles for several state research and regulatory bodies involved in the energy sector.

Prime Minister Kasymaliev described the vehicle donation as a gesture of goodwill and a symbol of deepening cooperation.

Thanking Ihlas Holding and Chairman Ahmet Mucahid Oren for their contributions to Kyrgyzstan’s development, he noted that the country has become an attractive destination for long-term energy investors.

Ihlas Holding to set up Kyrgyzstan's national energy academy

The group has pledged to provide monthly stipends of $150 to $1,000 to orphaned and vulnerable children and to supply 1% of the electricity generated from its hydroelectric plants—worth an estimated $3 million annually—free of charge to local communities.

An additional $3.2 million in annual technical assistance and training will also be directed toward the Kyrgyz Energy Ministry and related public institutions.

Looking ahead, the company plans to establish an energy academy in Kyrgyzstan to help develop a skilled local workforce capable of managing complex infrastructure.

'We only achieved a small portion of what we intend to accomplish'

Chairman Ahmet Mucahid Oren said the energy investment and accompanying social programs represent only the beginning of Ihlas Holding’s long-term commitment to the region.

"The social aid package we signed alongside the energy agreements is only a small portion of what we intend to accomplish," Oren added.

In mid-August, Ihlas Holding finalized a $6.3 billion energy investment agreement with Kyrgyzstan through Orta Asya Investment Holding. The deal covers the construction of two hydroelectric power plants with a combined installed capacity of 2,217 megawatts (MW), aiming to support regional energy needs along the Belt and Road, Middle Corridor, and Zangezur trade routes.
