Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center (TP-OTC AS) and Italian engineering company Saipem have signed a $425 million offshore contract as part of additional activities under the expansion of the third phase of the Sakarya Gas Field development project.
The agreement covers offshore works related to the extension of Phase 3 of the Sakarya Gas Field, according to a statement released by Saipem.
Under the scope of the contract, Saipem will carry out the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of three additional offshore pipelines with a total length of 153 kilometers, along with associated subsea infrastructure.
The pipelines will connect a newly discovered natural gas reserve in the Goktepe field to the Sakarya Phase 3 facilities.
The Goktepe field is located approximately 80 kilometers from the Sakarya Phase 3 site and lies at a water depth of about 2,200 meters.
The company said the new subsea infrastructure will enable increased production from the Sakarya Gas Field as part of the ongoing field development.
The offshore contract has a duration of around 2.5 years and is a continuation of an earlier agreement signed in September last year for the development of the third phase of the Sakarya Gas Field.
The new agreement expands the scope of Phase 3 by adding further offshore activities required to integrate the Goktepe gas discovery into the existing Sakarya infrastructure.
Offshore operations under the contract are scheduled to be carried out in the second half of 2027.
Saipem said the offshore installation work will be performed using its Castorone pipelay vessel, which will be responsible for laying the pipelines and installing the related subsea infrastructure as part of the Sakarya Phase 3 expansion.
