In a statement released by the U.S. Treasury Department, Yellen praised Türkiye’s efforts for implementing robust economic policies, noting that these policies have played a crucial role in stabilizing the economy and curbing inflation.
She highlighted the positive trend of inflation, showing signs of decline because of these measures.
Yellen and Simsek also discussed the importance of compliance with international sanctions. Both parties emphasized the need to prevent Türkiye's financial system from being exploited by individuals or groups attempting to evade sanctions or engage in terrorist activities.
