Russian Presidential Adviser Vladimir Medinsky expressed satisfaction with the outcome of negotiations with Ukraine and confirmed Russia's readiness to continue diplomatic contacts, following talks hosted by Türkiye at the Presidential Dolmabahce Working Office in Istanbul.
Medinsky, who led the Russian delegation during the Istanbul negotiations, made his remarks to the press after the conclusion of direct talks initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"We are generally satisfied with the results we have achieved in the negotiations and are ready to continue contacts," Medinsky said.
The presidential adviser provided details about agreements reached during the discussions, highlighting several key developments.
"In the coming days, a major prisoner exchange of 1,000 people for 1,000 people will take place," he stated.
"The Ukrainian side has requested direct talks at the level of heads of state. We have noted this request," Medinsky told reporters.
According to Medinsky, both Russia and Ukraine will present detailed perspectives on a potential ceasefire, after which negotiations will continue.
"We consider this reasonable," he added.
The Istanbul talks represent a significant diplomatic effort in the ongoing conflict, with Türkiye continuing its role as a mediator between the two nations.
