A new cultural exhibition titled "Daily Life in Sanliurfa" has opened at the Sanliurfa Museum under the coordination of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Republic of Türkiye. The exhibition presents 202 unique artifacts from Sanliurfa’s recent history, including traditional clothing, kitchenware, copper utensils, and accessories.
Sanliurfa Governor Hasan Sildak, speaking at the opening ceremony, emphasized the value of the exhibition in shedding light on the city’s cultural depth.
"Each artifact offers a glimpse into Sanliurfa’s vibrant heritage and the traces of life that once was. As we always say, both the surface and the underground of Sanliurfa are rich in history,” Sildak noted.
He added that the museum, home to nearly 100,000 artifacts, remains a top attraction for visitors. With its archaeological treasures and the mosaic museum in Halepli Bahce, Sanliurfa continues to captivate both local and international tourists.
Sanliurfa Museum Director Celal Uludag highlighted the significance of the items on exhibit, especially noting their rarity.
"This exhibition includes pieces that our visitors have not seen before. From jewelry and clothing to everyday tools and weapons, the collection showcases highly detailed and well-preserved objects from the recent past," he explained.
Uludag also emphasized Sanliurfa’s global importance as a center for Neolithic-era discoveries, underlining the museum’s position among the world’s most distinguished archaeological institutions.
The exhibition is open to visitors until June 15, offering a rare opportunity to experience the colorful and intricate aspects of daily life in historic Sanliurfa.
