Ed Sheeran's two concerts scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, have been canceled because of severe weather expected to hit the New England region, according to TMZ.
The stadium and tour management called off both shows as a major nor'easter, a powerful storm system affecting the northeastern United States, was forecast to bring heavy rain and strong winds to the area, TMZ reported, citing sources with direct knowledge of the decision.
Ticket holders will receive refunds, according to the report.

The cancellation comes as Sheeran's tour has also been caught up in controversy surrounding US rapper Macklemore, who was removed from the lineup after making pro-Palestine remarks during earlier performances.
Macklemore had appeared as Sheeran's opening act at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sept. 4 and 5, where he said, "Free Palestine," and performed "Hind's Hall," a protest song inspired by the pro-Palestine student movement.
Robert Kraft, who owns the New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium, opposed Macklemore performing at the Massachusetts venue following the rapper's remarks.
Macklemore later said in an Instagram statement that Sheeran, whom he described as a friend of 13 years, had told him Kraft organized a boycott among other stadium owners unless the rapper was dropped from the tour lineup.
Sheeran, however, said the decision to remove Macklemore was made by tour venues and promoters rather than by him.
