Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been cast as the voice of a Viking warrior in the forthcoming animated feature Viqueens, marking his first venture into voice acting.
The project was confirmed at the Cannes Film Festival, with producers announcing that the film is being directed by Norwegian filmmaker Harald Zwart, known for his work on international productions including "The Karate Kid."
"Viqueens" is described as a family-oriented animated adventure set in a fantastical world featuring warrior societies, icy fjords, and mythology inspired by Silk Road narratives. The film combines elements of Nordic folklore with broader global influences.
The striker has frequently been compared to a Viking due to his physical style of play.
The film is scheduled for theatrical release on Christmas Day and is expected to be among the major animated family releases of the holiday season.
