"The Knot: Gateway to Anatolia," the latest installment in its Go Türkiye Mini Series, a project that presents Türkiye's tourism destinations to international audiences through cinematic storytelling by the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA).
Produced by Surec Film and directed by Yunus Ozan Korkut, with a screenplay by Melih Ozyilmaz and Elif Turker, the mini-series focuses on Central Anatolia.
The series follows two ambitious art historians competing for the same university position.
Sila Turkoglu portrays "Bahar" and Serkan Cayoglu portrays "Toprak," with veteran actor Levent Ozdilek playing "Professor."
The characters' paths cross as they research Türkiye's historical and cultural heritage sites, taking them through landmark locations in Ankara, Eskisehir, Konya and Corum.
The mini-series spotlights the region's history, art, natural landscapes and gastronomy within a romantic narrative framework, according to TGA. Ankara, the capital, along with Eskisehir, Konya and Corum, serve as the backdrop as the two lead characters get to know one another while tracing the region's past.
TGA's previous production in the series, "The Route of My Heart: Black Sea," reached 62.2 million impressions and 45.8 million views in its first week after release, the agency said.
The project aims to showcase Türkiye's cultural heritage and travel potential to a global audience, TGA said.
