The Varyon Quartet, a Germany-based string ensemble, performed at the 23rd International Gumusluk Music Festival in Bodrum, a resort district on Turkiye's southwestern Aegean coast.
The concert took place in the historic stone quarry of the Gumusluk neighborhood, a venue known for hosting the festival's "Tasta" concert series.
Held annually in the fishing village of Gumusluk since 2004, the festival has grown into one of Turkiye's longer-running classical music events, drawing international performers to the region each summer.
The quartet features first violinist Sofiko Tchumburidze, second violinist Kyota Kakiuchi, violist Arda Aykut and cellist Syon Najman.
The musicians, recognized for awards earned in Japan and Germany, performed two works during the concert.
The first half featured Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's String Quartet No. 19 in C major, K. 465, known as "Dissonance." Following an intermission, the ensemble performed Johannes Brahms's String Quartet No. 1 in C minor, Op. 51, No. 1.
Bosfor Turizm was the main sponsor, with support from Türkiye's Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Audience members gave the quartet an extended standing ovation at the close of the performance.
