Marvel Studios continues to expand the cast of "Avengers: Secret Wars" ahead of production, which is slated to begin later this year. Noah Jupe has been cast in a role the studio has not disclosed, according to Deadline.

Details about the character are being kept quiet, but the part is reportedly central to how the story unfolds. Anthony and Joe Russo direct, with Kevin Feige producing.

The film opens in theaters Dec. 17, 2027.

Noah Jupe's most recent stage work brought him together with Sadie Sink in a West End revival of "Romeo & Juliet" over the summer, a run that drew strong reviews for both, with Sink playing Juliet opposite Jupe's Romeo.

"Secret Wars" will likely mark their reunion, since Sink has since crossed over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe herself, debuting as Jean Grey in July's "Spider-Man: Brand New Day."

She's also set to reprise the mutant role in the upcoming "X-Men" film from director Jake Schreier.

Jupe's film resume has grown steadily this year. He appeared in "Hamnet," the focus features drama that has picked up Oscar buzz, and returned for the second season of "The Night Manager" alongside Tom Hiddleston, reprising a role he first played as a child in the show's 2016 debut season.

Looking ahead, he's set to star in Jaume Collet-Serra's thriller "Play Dead," which Netflix has picked up, and he recently wrapped filming on "A Quiet Place Part III," reprising his role as Marcus Abbott from the earlier installments in the franchise.
