A new trailer has been released for "Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu," the upcoming Lucasfilm production set to arrive exclusively in cinemas on May 22, 2026, offering audiences a closer look at the next chapter centered on Din Djarin and Grogu.
Directed by Jon Favreau and filmed specifically for IMAX, the production builds on the story of the Mandalorian bounty hunter and his young companion, bringing their journey to the big screen in a format designed for large-scale viewing. The film stars Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and Jeremy Allen White, bringing together an ensemble cast for this new installment.
The narrative unfolds in a period following the fall of the Empire, as remnants of its power structure continue to operate across the galaxy. While the New Republic works to uphold the values fought for by the Rebellion, it turns to Din Djarin and Grogu for support in confronting these scattered warlords.
The story, written by Jon Favreau alongside Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor, centers on this evolving balance of power, as familiar characters step into a wider conflict that extends beyond their earlier missions.
The film’s original score, composed by Academy Award winner Ludwig Gorranson, is scheduled to be released digitally on May 15 under Walt Disney Records. A vinyl edition featuring 13 tracks will follow on June 5, offering an additional format for audiences interested in the soundtrack.
The production is backed by Lucasfilm, with Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce serving as producers. Executive production is handled by Karen Gilchrist, John Bartnicki, and Carrie Beck.
