Spotify released its 2025 Wrapped report and the results show a clear shift in Türkiye’s listening habits.

Rap artists dominated almost every category, local music reached record levels of engagement and pop music struggled to hold space in the top charts.

The findings offer a snapshot of how listeners in Türkiye reshaped the musical landscape over the past year.

Rap dominance and BLOK3’s rise across Türkiye

BLOK3 became the most streamed artist in Türkiye in 2025. His track "Sevmeyi Denemedin" led the list of most played songs and three other songs by him entered the top ten.

Ati242 placed second in the artist ranking and also appeared on the top songs list with "Kezske", a collaboration with BLOK3. Semicenk, Era7capone and Lvbel C5 completed the first five positions.

Rap artists held the majority of the chart:

  • Eight out of the ten most streamed artists came from rap.
  • Poizi made one of the fastest climbs of the year.
  • Every list that measured streaming volume showed strong rap presence.

The trend also appeared in the top ten songs. Only one pop artist entered the list and Aleyna Tilki did so through a duet, "Sana Guvenmiyorum", with Dedubluman.

Other major tracks included Semicenk’s "Sen Kaldin", Era7capone, Poizi and Snow’s "Sonbahar", and Ati242’s "Italy Forma".

Turkish listeners push local music to record levels

Wrapped 2025 confirmed Türkiye’s strong preference for local artists. Ninety eight of the top 100 most streamed songs were Turkish.

Local music listening increased by more than ten percent compared with last year.

This trend created a sharp contrast with Spotify’s global rankings. While Bad Bunny topped the worldwide list with more than 19.8 billion streams, Türkiye’s charts remained almost fully dominated by domestic artists.

Turkish listeners again favored home grown productions instead of international hits.

Pop music struggles in Türkiye as nostalgia rises in albums

Wrapped 2025 revealed a clear decline for pop music in the singles charts. Several outlets described the results as a collapse of mainstream pop, due to the limited presence of pop acts in the top ten.

Yet the album category told a more complex story. Pop and nostalgic records stood out even within a year shaped by rap. Manifest’s "Manifestival" was the second most streamed album and Melike Sahin’s "Akkor" placed fifth.

Classic albums also returned to the spotlight. Yasar’s "Divane" from the 1990s, Bengu’s 2014 album "Ikinci Hal" and Kenan Dogulu’s "Festival" all re entered the top ten.

Sezen Aksu maintained her leading position among women. She remained the most streamed female artist of 2025.

Wrapped’s data also showed a steady rise in streams of women artists since 2021 and noted the continued impact of Spotify’s EQUAL programme. Gulsen, Hande Yener, Ebru Gundes and manifest followed Aksu in the top ranks for women.

Türkiye’s top podcasts, new Wrapped features

The most streamed podcast in Türkiye was "Ortamlarda Satilacak Bilgi". "Kendine Iyi Davran" and "Hayalhanem" ranked second and third. "Meksika Acmazi" took fourth place, while "Merdiven Alti Terapi" completed the top five.

Wrapped 2025 also introduced new interactive tools for users. These included a feature that compares listening habits across age groups, a list of the most replayed albums and a global fan leaderboard. Users can also join a competitive game called Wrapped Party.

Spotify’s global lists showed a different picture compared with Türkiye. Bad Bunny led the worldwide artist ranking, followed by Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Drake and Billie Eilish. The most streamed global song was "Die With A Smile" by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars with more than 1.7 billion plays. Billie Eilish’s "Birds of a Feather" and ROSE and Bruno Mars’s "APT." followed.
