The ancient city of Tralleis in Aydin, western Türkiye, hosted a concert by the Swedish ensemble YoJuliet as part of the third International Mythology Film Festival. The performance marked the first cultural event ever held within the ruins of Tralleis, an archaeological site in the Efeler district.
The festival, running between 22 and 30 September across five cities, continued in Aydin with a film screening at the Nevzat Bicer Conference Hall.
Alongside the cinematic program, YoJuliet took the stage among the remains of the ancient city, performing some of their most beloved songs for the audience.
Following the concert, archaeologist and author Ozlem Ertan delivered a presentation titled Hitit Masallari (Hittite Tales), which explored the storytelling traditions of Anatolia’s ancient civilizations.
In addition, a panel discussion was held under the theme The Common Story of Humanity, emphasizing shared cultural narratives across societies.
Festival founder and director Gulsah Elikbank reminded audiences that the event had been running for three days and underlined its mission to create a strong link between ancient cities and modern culture.
She noted that the festival aims to harness the power of cinema while incorporating other artistic disciplines to enrich the experience.
