A Turkish-produced romantic drama filmed in Portugal is set to open in cinemas across Portugal and the rest of Europe on May 6, bringing together actors from Türkiye and Portugal in a cross-border love story.
"Portuguese Love," described as the first Turkish production shot in Portugal, is preparing to roll out across Europe, with its release beginning on May 6. The film will be shown in Portugal as well as in other European markets, introducing audiences to a story that stretches between Türkiye and Portugal.
The production brings together Cansu Dere, who has built up a strong fan base abroad, with Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado and Turkish actor Ismail Demirci in the leading roles.
Alongside its lead trio, the film's cast also includes Marta Faial, Rodrigo Soares, Ines Heredia, Basak Dasman, Cagla Demir, Serif Sezer and Hamdi Ustunol.
By bringing together performers from Türkiye and Portugal, the film sets up a story that moves between the two countries while centering on an emotional relationship.
Written by Murat Boyacioglu and Rana Denizer, the romantic drama follows Yasemin, a woman who has not given up on love despite past disappointments. As the story unfolds, she tries to leave her past behind and set out on a new beginning.
The film was produced through a collaboration between Diopter Film and G-NR Film, the companies behind the project, while director Ismail Sahin took on the role of helming the production.
