MuzeVerse, Türkiye’s first private virtual reality museum, is redefining the museum experience by merging cutting-edge technology with storytelling.
Located in Istanbul, it offers visitors large-scale, immersive journeys through history, allowing groups to explore ancient worlds and imagined pasts together. Inspired by VR museums in cities like New York, London, and Shanghai, MuzeVerse was created through a collaboration between VR Future and Excurio, a France-based, award-winning company operating in seven countries.
From the pyramids of ancient Egypt to the scenic landscapes of the Middle Ages, MuzeVerse invites visitors into vivid, digitally-crafted realities, making it a standout addition to Istanbul’s cultural scene and a must-visit for history lovers and tech enthusiasts alike.
MuzeVerse offers visitors two immersive virtual reality experiences that bring history to life in one place. The first, "Journey to the Egyptian Pyramids – Discovering Ancient Egypt," transports visitors 4,500 years back to the world of the pharaohs, where both children and adults can explore the Great Pyramid, walk among hieroglyph-covered walls, and immerse themselves in the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization.
By witnessing the funeral procession of King Khufu, you can experience one of the most significant moments of ancient Egyptian culture. Exploring the Giza Plateau, you can discover the mysterious chambers of the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid through virtual reality headsets.
Its latest experience, "The Last Journey – Discovering the Middle Ages," takes visitors to the turbulent early 14th-century Europe. Seen through the eyes of a young noble named Simon, this story invites audiences to explore life behind city walls, experience a society under the weight of the Inquisition, and contemplate inner human struggles symbolized by a dragon.
With themes of justice, loyalty, and conscience woven through bustling marketplaces, Gothic cathedrals, and towering castles, this journey sparks curiosity and historical empathy in visitors of all ages.
Speaking to an Anadolu Agency reporter, VR Future co-founder Virgile Mangiavillano explained that their first production was "Journey to the Egyptian Pyramids—Discovering Ancient Egypt." “We started our journey with the pyramids, a universal theme that offered a captivating experience for all. The 'Last Journey—Discovering the Middle Ages,' on the other hand, presents a more fictional narrative. With this new experience, we crafted a powerful and visually rich story, incorporating the latest advancements in virtual reality technology,” says Mangiavillano.
Highlighting MuzeVerse’s innovative use of virtual reality, Mangiavillano added, “So far, we’ve welcomed 30,000 visitors, and the experiences we offer have sparked great curiosity. In our 900-square-meter immersive space, it’s possible to journey beyond time and unlock the door to great discoveries.”
MuzeVerse offers a unique cultural experience for both adults and children alike. Catering to history enthusiasts and fans of digital innovation, this virtual reality museum promises an unforgettable journey in Istanbul for both local and international visitors. For anyone eager to dive into the depths of history and explore the wonders of the past through cutting-edge technology, MuzeVerse stands out as a must-visit destination.
