A South Korean district court sentenced a Brazilian woman to one year in prison, suspended for two years, after she repeatedly visited and harassed BTS member Jungkook's home, even after several police warnings.
According to local media, the woman, whose name was not shared in court documents, visited Jungkook's home at least 22 times between December 2025 and February 2026.
The woman first showed up at Jungkook's Seoul home on December 7, where she lingered on the property, threw items over the wall, and left letters and photos at the house. A few days later, she came back and rang the doorbell 133 times. The court called this behavior an 'extreme level of obsession.'
Authorities arrested her on December 13 after she reportedly followed a food delivery worker through a side entrance to get onto the property. She was released the next day with a warning to stay away from Jungkook's home.
Even after the warning, she kept visiting the star's house. The police subsequently issued an emergency order banning her from coming within 100 meters (328 feet) of Jungkook's home. She still broke the order, which led prosecutors to file charges in February.
In court, the woman said she acted out of love for the singer.
The court said there were several mitigating factors in its decision, including the finding that the woman was not likely to reoffend. She is also expected to be deported from South Korea unless she wins an appeal.
Jungkook, who is part of the world-famous K-pop group BTS, has been targeted by stalkers before. In June last year, a Chinese woman was arrested for allegedly trying to enter his home soon after he finished his mandatory military service.
