A magnitude 4.0 earthquake occurred in the Aegean Sea, off the coast of the Ayvacik district in Türkiye's Canakkale, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) Earthquake Department on Tuesday.
The earthquake was also felt in Greece's Lesbos island.
AFAD reported that the earthquake took place at 14:28, with its epicenter located offshore near Ayvacık.
The quake was recorded at a depth of 17.49 kilometers (10.8 miles).
In recent weeks, multiple small-to-moderate earthquakes have been reported across different regions of Türkiye, particularly in the Aegean and eastern parts of the country.
