The historic village of Mustafapasa in Nevsehir is set to become the heart of Türkiye’s culinary scene as it hosts the 5th Cappadocia Gastronomy Festival on 15–16 May 2026. Organized by Kapadokya University under the auspices of the Nevsehir Governorship, the event will bring together gastronomy, culture, and heritage under the theme “Local Heritage, Starred Tables.”
Widely recognized for its preserved architecture and cultural identity, Mustafapasa, named one of the “Best Tourism Villages” in 2021 by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, will transform into a vibrant gastronomic route featuring local flavors, live cooking events, and cultural performances.
The festival will feature a wide range of activities, including a local producer market, thematic panels, culinary competitions, a gastronomy stage, and the “Mustafapasa Taste Route,” where visitors will be able to experience traditional regional cuisine at designated stops. In addition, live cooking demonstrations will be presented by chefs, including culinary professionals featured in the Michelin Guide.
A dedicated gastronomy stage in Mustafapasa Square will host chefs, academics, gastronomy experts, and artists. The program will also include talks, concerts, live music performances, and seminars addressing sustainability, regional history and viticulture.
Organizers have stated that environmental sustainability will be a key focus of the festival, with menus designed to minimize carbon emissions and promote environmentally responsible culinary practices. Products from local producers and women’s cooperatives will also be showcased throughout the event.
The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Cappadocia Area Presidency, Ahiler Development Agency, Urgup Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Turkish Chefs Federation, and the Cappadocia Chefs Association.
