Yeganeh Choulaki, an Iranian university student living in Rize, has designed a handmade dress woven from roughly 5,000 fresh tea leaves. She showcased her unique creation at the city's iconic Cay Carsisi (Tea Bazaar).

Choulaki said she drew on tea as the main source of inspiration for the design. She completed the outfit in four days and displayed it in Rize, where tea is closely associated with the city's identity.

Handmade design shaped by tea

Choulaki told journalists that she worked on the entire dress by hand, using fresh tea leaves as the central material.

She said she loved Rize and explained her choice by saying, “Since the most famous thing here is tea, I was inspired by these tea leaves when I designed and created this dress.”
