Istanbul hit by powerful lodos: Cars, roads and sea traffic affected

Across Istanbul, the ongoing lodos storm also disrupted maritime transportation, with strong winds and rough seas forcing delays and cancellations on several ferry routes. 

Along the shoreline in Sariyer, powerful waves generated by the storm struck boats moored near the coast, pushing some of them out of position and causing damage. The rough sea and crashing waves created dramatic scenes at the waterfront, as boat owners and local teams inspected the affected vessels.

Powerful lodos winds caused a large tree to collapse. The force of the impact left the vehicle heavily damaged. 

Fire crews arrived at the scene and worked carefully to cut the tree into pieces before removing it from the roadway.

In central districts such as Sisli and Besiktas, tree-lined streets were affected by the strong winds, with workers trimming unstable branches and securing surrounding areas.

Across the city’s ferry piers and terminals, announcements were made informing passengers about schedule changes due to weather conditions.
