A street vendor in Istanbul has turned into a viral sensation, pulling growing crowds of foreign tourists to Karakoy after spreading across social media.
Alper Temel, widely referred to online as the “handsome corn seller,” rose to prominence through videos shared on TikTok and Instagram. The clips, often filmed by tourists, quickly gained widespread attention, making the young vendor a global sensation.

Temel’s corn stand in Karakoy has since become a frequent stop for foreign visitors. Tourists from several countries, including Romania, Spain and Russia, have been reported to visit the area specifically to see him.
According to local reports, a travel agency from Russia has begun incorporating visits to Temel’s stand into their Istanbul tour itineraries.
Long queues are now a common sight in front of the vendor’s stand, with visitors often waiting to take photographs rather than to purchase corn. Many of those gathering are young tourists eager to meet a figure they previously encountered online.
