Sheila Ebana, Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal's mother, spent time sightseeing in Istanbul after her son’s match against Galatasaray.
Ebana visited several sites in Istanbul on Saturday and posted photos of the trip on Instagram.
The images show her at Sultanahmet Mosque, commonly known as the Blue Mosque, and at Istanbul University. Other photos show baklava and Turkish coffee.
In her Spanish-language caption, she told followers she was sharing a few photos from Türkiye and added a Turkish flag with a heart-eyes emoji.
Yamal, 19, is one of the most closely watched players in world football. His mother has often been described as a central figure in his career.
Barcelona beat Galatasaray 4-1 on Tuesday, Oct. 13, in the second round of the Champions League league phase at RAMS Park in Istanbul.
Yamal provided two assists after Barcelona fell behind early. Joao Cancelo equalized before halftime, and Yamal then set up Fermin Lopez for the go-ahead goal in the 50th minute and Anthony Gordon for the third goal three minutes later.
Substitute Karim Adeyemi scored the fourth. Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said of Yamal: "He’s turned the game around for us." The win left Barcelona with six points from two matches.
Barcelona’s next Champions League match is at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
