The historic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train, which departed from Paris entered Türkiye through the Kapikule Station. The train, featured in Agatha Christie's novel Murder on the Orient Express, set off from Paris. The Orient Express train arrived in Türkiye after stops in Budapest and Bucharest. The train's 64 passengers were welcomed at the station by a folk dance troupe.

Train operations official Bruno Janssens told reporters that they departed from Paris with the passengers on Friday, May 30. Janssens, who stated that they entered Türkiye after Budapest and Bucharest, said, "We will complete our journey in Istanbul. This is the first trip of the year. We will have another trip to Istanbul in October. It is always a pleasure for us to make the historic and legendary journey from Paris to Istanbul."

One of the passengers, U.S. citizen Rand Mason, said that they had a wonderful journey.

Mason, who noted that Türkiye is one of his favorite countries, said, "This trip offers a great opportunity to see countries I don’t know much about, because their histories are magnificent. The best part of the journey was arriving in Istanbul. I watch Turkish TV shows. I really like Engin Akyurek and Kivanc Tatlitug. I enjoy watching Turkish dramas."

Mason added that they plan to take a Bosphorus tour and explore Istanbul.
