The Meteorology 1st Regional Directorate, through the Istanbul Regional Forecast and Early Warning Center, has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Istanbul and neighboring provinces. According to the announcement, rain is expected to begin this evening in the central and western districts of Edirne and Kirklareli.
On Tuesday, heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Edirne, Kirklareli, Tekirdag, Istanbul, Kocaeli and Yalova. Authorities have warned residents to take precautions against possible adverse effects such as flooding, water accumulation, lightning strikes, strong winds during rainfall, and localized small hail.
Meteorological data indicate that western parts of the Marmara region, especially Edirne, Kirklareli and Tekirdag, will experience locally heavy rainfall starting in the evening and continuing into the night. Istanbul, Kocaeli and Yalova are also expected to see significant rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
The expected adverse effects include disruptions to transportation, flooding, lightning strikes, strong winds, and the possibility of localized hail. Citizens are strongly advised to remain cautious and take necessary safety measures to protect themselves, their property, and their vehicles.
