Modified car enthusiasts from across Türkiye gathered in Diyarbakir, a city in the country's southeast near the Tigris River, for the second edition of "Tuning Fest Diyarbakir."
The festival was held at Nevruz Park in the city's Baglar district. Participants from Diyarbakir and other cities displayed their modified vehicles, with different makes and models drawing attention for their designs, accessories, and sound systems. Visitors examined the vehicles closely and took photographs.
Mehmet Besir Yalcin, the festival's organizer, said the event marked the second edition after last year's inaugural festival. He said participants from 45 different provinces brought their vehicles to Diyarbakir.
"There is an atmosphere where brotherhood and friendship come together," Yalcin said.
Yalcin said the vehicles on display were custom-built, ranging from those with modified exhausts to cars with reverse-opening doors, fog lights and sound systems. He said car enthusiasts came to see the vehicles in person.
Sait Guzelucar, who traveled from Tatvan, a district of Bitlis province in eastern Turkiye, said he brought seven vehicles to the event.
He said Diyarbakir residents had hosted participants well, adding that his group completed all preparations for the festival in 10 days and transported the vehicles safely.
One attendee even wrapped his car in the colors of his favorite football club for the festival. He said he and others spent a week preparing the vehicle at auto workshops, and that people on the street honk and wave when they see the car.
