Meteorologists have forecast rainy conditions across Türkiye this weekend, with some regions experiencing heavy rainfall.
Abdullah Macit, a weather forecast expert at the Meteorology General Directorate of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, provided details to Anadolu Agency (AA).
Macit stated that local showers are expected tomorrow in the coastal Aegean, Black Sea, Marmara, and northern parts of Central Anatolia.
He noted that rainfall will be particularly intense around Bursa, Kocaeli, and Sakarya during the morning and in the western Black Sea region from midday onwards.
He added that temperatures have risen above seasonal averages and will continue to remain 3–5 degrees Celsius (37.4 degrees Fahrenheit-41 degrees Fahrenheit) higher than normal until midweek.
On Sunday, precipitation is expected to shift eastward, affecting the eastern Black Sea, northern Eastern Anatolia and western Black Sea coasts.
While rainfall will temporarily subside with the start of the new week, a new weather system is predicted to bring rain to Marmara and the Aegean on Monday, spreading nationwide by Tuesday and Wednesday.
Authorities have advised residents in affected areas to remain vigilant against potential floods and water accumulation.
