Heavy hail during the summer season turned parts of Amran in northern Yemen white after strong rain swept through several areas, covering rural landscapes and farmland in a short time.
According to local sources and footage shared on social media, hail fell alongside heavy rainfall in Harf and Reyde districts, both in Amran province.
The storm quickly covered mountainous areas, countryside and agricultural fields with a white layer, creating an unusual midsummer scene for the region.
Eyewitnesses said hailstones also built up in some residential areas, making neighborhoods appear snow-covered shortly after the storm moved through.
The scenes drew attention as much of Europe continues to deal with a severe heat wave, with temperatures rising above seasonal norms across many areas.
The moments were recorded and shared by local media outlets and social media users, showing Amran's rural and mountainous areas briefly transformed by the summer hail.
