A sudden tornado appeared over the sea off the coast of Kumluca, Antalya, around midday today. The natural phenomenon was captured by nearby residents on their mobile phones.
The tornado formed at approximately 2:30 p.m. and was seen rotating over the water, occasionally intensifying. It lost strength before reaching land and dissipated, causing no damage.
Residents watched the event with a mix of excitement and concern, capturing the rare sight on camera. So far, there have been no reports of injuries or property damage.
Meteorologists note that such sea tornadoes are more likely in spring due to temperature differences between the air and the sea, but most often they vanish before hitting the coast.
