The Gaziantep Gastronomy Festival (GastroAntep), held as part of the Culture Road Festival and organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, continued on its third day, drawing visitors to one of southeastern Türkiye's best-known food events.
Stands set up by local businesses at Festival Park attracted strong interest from residents of the city center and from neighboring provinces who came to sample the region's cuisine.
Crowds gathered in front of the stands throughout the day, giving visitors the chance to taste a wide range of dishes, desserts and drinks prepared by master cooks.
Smoke rose from the grills across the festival area as kebab masters showed off their skills, grilling skewers in front of waiting visitors.
Baklava masters, who make the layered pastry filled with nuts and soaked in syrup, offered their desserts to festival-goers at the stands.
Katmer masters also presented their work, serving the thin pastry filled with clotted cream and pistachios that is a signature breakfast and dessert of the region.
Katmer master Emre Yilmaz said the third day was full and very fruitful, describing the event as one of Türkiye's most exemplary food festivals and inviting everyone to attend.
Visitor Aysun Yener said she finds the festival fun and attends every year, showing how the event has become a regular stop for many local residents.
Isra Halife, who traveled from the Nizip district of Gaziantep with her group, said the food on offer at the festival was delicious.
