Tourists continued to flock to Cleopatra Beach in Alanya, a popular holiday destination in Türkiye's southern Antalya province, on Thursday, Oct. 8, as air temperatures reached 26 degrees Celsius (79 degrees Fahrenheit) and sea temperatures remained at 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit).
While cooler weather has arrived in many parts of Türkiye, above-seasonal temperatures in Alanya have kept the coastal resort busy well into October, drawing both domestic and international visitors to its beaches.
Visitors began arriving at Cleopatra Beach early in the morning to make the most of the sunshine and warm Mediterranean waters.
Families headed into the sea with their children, while other holidaymakers stretched out on the beach's fine sand to sunbathe. Some tourists also set off on boat tours to take in Alanya's coastal scenery from the water.
The continued warm weather has helped sustain tourism activity in the district despite the arrival of autumn.
Clare Evans, a 55-year-old tourist from the United Kingdom who has been staying in Alanya for several weeks, said she was enjoying her holiday and welcomed the sunny conditions.
"Even though it's October, the sun is shining brightly and the beach is lovely," Evans said, although she added that the beach could benefit from some cleaning.
She also encouraged international visitors not to be discouraged from traveling by ongoing events around the world, describing Alanya as a destination well prepared for tourism.
Evans praised the hospitality of local residents, saying people were welcoming not only toward British tourists but also toward visitors from other countries.
