According to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, much of Türkiye will remain dry on Wednesday. However, Turkish State Meteorological Service expert Fevzi Burak Tekin explained that showers will appear in the Black Sea provinces of Trabzon, Rize, and Artvin, while light rainfall will reach the northern coastal areas of Istanbul and Kırklareli during the night.
From Thursday, a fresh weather system will push into Türkiye, bringing rainfall to the north and east of the country. Tekin noted that eastern Marmara, the Black Sea region, northern parts of Eastern Anatolia, and the Mediterranean provinces of Mersin, Adana, and Hatay will be affected.
Heavy showers are expected along the coastal zones of the western and eastern Black Sea, as well as in Kocaeli, Sakarya, Bolu, Karabuk, and Ordu. Winds from the north are also forecast to strengthen along the Marmara and Aegean coasts and in central parts of the Black Sea.
While rainfall is set to ease over the weekend, showers will continue on Friday in the northern and eastern provinces, along with Hatay and Adana. The coastal Black Sea and northeastern parts of Eastern Anatolia may still experience stronger downpours.
Tekin underlined that the most striking change will be the drop in temperatures. After hovering around seasonal norms, temperatures are expected to fall by six to twelve degrees Celsius from Thursday, creating a noticeable chill across the country.
For Ankara, dry and partly cloudy skies are predicted through Friday. The capital will feel the sharpest temperature shift, moving from 29°C on Wednesday to 23°C on Thursday and down to 20°C by Friday. Izmir will remain largely unaffected, with warm, stable conditions between 29°C and 31°C for the next three days.
Istanbul, however, will see rainfall beginning late Wednesday night on its Black Sea-facing coasts, spreading citywide with thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday.
