Turkish actor Can Yaman, often in the news for remarks that spark debate as well as for his private life, pushed back at his detractors with a social media post on Aug. 1, 2025.
He shared the following statement in full: “I’m old, I’m ugly, I’m drugged, I’m an alcoholic, my health is ruined by cigars. I’m not a person to look up to. I’m changed, I’m not the professional I used to be anymore. I fuck up my career. I’m in love with the wrong woman. Everything is for publicity. My behaviours are horrible. I’m not believable anymore. Whatever I do is a scam. Nobody likes me. People around me only use me. I should change my friends. I’m egocentric and rude. I cheat, I steal stuff. What else? Not sure if they told enough about me. Waiting for haters below on comments, keep it coming..”
Continuing his acting career in Italy, Yaman has stayed in the headlines both for recent projects and for his relationship with DJ Sara Bluma.
He first drew wide attention on Italian television in 2021 with the series “Viola Come il Mare,” and his visibility then grew beyond Italy to international platforms.
In the first quarter of 2025, when asked “Türkiye or Italy?”—Yaman answered “Italy,” which quickly triggered criticism.
Following that reaction, the digital platform set to carry his series “El Turco” pulled the show in Türkiye, with the decision attributed to his words.
Yaman had also been in the news for posting a supportive message after DJ Sara Bluma experienced violence from a former partner.
While he had previously made other remarks that drew strong reactions, he was recently said to be enjoying a holiday in Türkiye before returning to his work.
