The Turkish government announced that several highways, bridges, and public transportation services will be free of charge during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr (Ramazan Bayrami) holiday.

According to a Presidential Decision published in the Official Gazette on March 18, 2026, the move aims to facilitate travel for citizens and visitors during the festive period.

Free bridge and highway access dates

The toll-free period for major roadways begins at midnight on Thursday, March 19, 2026. This benefit remains in effect until the end of Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Travelers can use the following routes without charge:

  • All highways under the responsibility of the General Directorate of Highways (KGM)

  • The Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge

Travelers should note that "build-operate-transfer" (Yap-Islet-Devret) projects are excluded from this decision.

These routes will continue to require payment during the holiday.
