The Turkish government announced that several highways, bridges, and public transportation services will be free of charge during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr (Ramazan Bayrami) holiday.
According to a Presidential Decision published in the Official Gazette on March 18, 2026, the move aims to facilitate travel for citizens and visitors during the festive period.
The toll-free period for major roadways begins at midnight on Thursday, March 19, 2026. This benefit remains in effect until the end of Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Travelers should note that "build-operate-transfer" (Yap-Islet-Devret) projects are excluded from this decision.
These routes will continue to require payment during the holiday.
Free access to urban rail systems and municipal transport will start slightly later than the highway tolls.
These services will be free from midnight on Friday, March 20, 2026, until the end of Sunday, March 22, 2026.
