Three Turkish citizens evacuated from an international cruise ship have tested negative for hantavirus after being brought back to Türkiye by air ambulance, the Health Ministry said on Monday, adding that all five monitored individuals remain symptom-free.
The ministry said the three citizens were transported to Türkiye aboard an ambulance aircraft and placed under close medical observation and isolation upon arrival. Health authorities also launched a monitoring process to closely follow their condition.
According to the ministry, health teams collected samples from the three individuals, similar to procedures previously carried out for two other people who had entered the country earlier.
In a statement, the ministry said all three citizens tested negative for hantavirus, although they would continue to be kept in quarantine for the recommended period.
“Three citizens’ results were found to be negative and they will be kept in quarantine for the recommended period,” the ministry said, adding that medical teams continue to assess their condition on an ongoing basis.
The ministry also said no clinical signs or symptoms had been detected in any of the five individuals being monitored so far.
Authorities said the process is continuing under close supervision by the Health Ministry, with medical teams maintaining regular checks throughout the isolation period.
