The Turkish humanitarian organization (IHH) provided food aid to 500 families affected by flooding in Indonesia and served hot meals to another 500 people.
In a statement, the foundation said that more than 750 people have lost their lives and more than 2,500 have been injured in floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall on Sumatra Island. It added that 650 people remain missing.
According to the statement, about 576,300 disaster victims have been forced to leave their homes.
Relief efforts continue to face significant challenges in several inaccessible villages where roads have been cut off and communication lines damaged.
The foundation said it is conducting emergency relief operations in the region, distributing food parcels to 500 families, assistance that has benefited about 2,400 people.
The statement added that hot meals were provided to 500 disaster victims and that emergency response efforts in the area are ongoing.
