Three Israelis died and 91 others were injured following Iran's retaliatory missile strikes on Israel, media reported Friday.
A woman who was wounded in the initial wave of Iranian missile attacks died from her injuries, according to Israel's public broadcaster Kan. Two additional Israelis were pronounced dead after being injured in a subsequent missile strike in central Israel, the broadcaster said.
The casualty count climbed to 91 injured Israelis, with three of the 21 people wounded in the latest missile barrages remaining in critical or serious condition, KAN reported.
The strikes caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure. Channel 12 reported that approximately 300 residents in Greater Tel Aviv were evacuated after their homes sustained damage, while another 100 people were evacuated from the municipality of Ramat Gan near Tel Aviv.
Iranian rockets completely destroyed nine buildings in Ramat Gan and damaged hundreds of apartments and vehicles, according to the Israeli daily Haaretz.
The exchange of fire continued into Friday evening, with aerial interceptions observed over Tehran following renewed Israeli strikes, Kan reported.
The current escalation began in the early hours of Friday when Israeli forces launched attacks on Iran, targeting nuclear and missile facilities and killing senior military commanders and scientists. Iran responded with ballistic missile strikes across multiple areas of Israel.
The cross-border attacks mark a significant escalation in tensions between the two regional powers, with both sides demonstrating their capacity to strike deep into each other's territory.
