A 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck Konya province in central Türkiye at 6:40 a.m. local time on Wednesday morning, with the epicenter located in the Ilgin district, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
The tremor was recorded on AFAD's official website, which monitors seismic activity across Türkiye. No immediate damage or casualties were reported following the earthquake.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ugur Ibrahim Altay addressed the earthquake through his social media account, extending well wishes to all citizens affected by the tremor in Ilgin.
"We are in communication with our teams, and there is no negative situation," Altay said in his statement. "May Allah protect our country and our nation from all kinds of natural disasters."
The mayor's office confirmed that municipal emergency response teams were actively monitoring the situation following the earthquake.
