Gundemar Research and Consulting has released the results of its "Türkiye Agenda" survey for December 2025, revealing significant shifts in voter sentiment, particularly within the nationalist wing of Turkish politics.
The study, conducted between Dec. 20 and 26 with 2,365 participants across 60 provinces using both telephone and web-based interviews, shows the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) maintaining its lead despite a loss in support.
When asked, "Which political party would you vote for if there were a parliamentary election this Sunday?" 34.30% of respondents chose CHP after undecided voters were distributed. However, this represents a 1.61-point drop compared to the previous data.
Conversely, the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) is making a year-end comeback.
Ranking second with 29.72 percent, the AK Party increased its vote share by 1.22 points, signaling that the gap between the two major parties is narrowing.
The survey highlights a deepening crisis for the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), which has been losing support since the start of the "terror-free Türkiye" peace process.
MHP votes dropped by another 0.66 points in December, falling to 4.38 percent. This decline has pushed the party behind its nationalist rivals. The far-right Zafer Party (Victory Party) polled at 5.36%, while the IYI Party stood at 5.07%.
A striking detail of the poll is the rise of the Anahtar Party (Key Party). Reaching 4.81%, the new party has managed to surpass the MHP and is now running neck-and-neck with the IYI Party.
Meanwhile, the pro-Kurdish DEM Party maintained its position as the third-largest party with 9.24 percent.
MHP leader Bahceli had called on imprisoned PKK ringleader Ocalan in October 2024 to dissolve the organization. Ocalan made a call for disarmament and dissolution in February 2025.
Following this, the PKK held a symbolic disarmament ceremony in the summer and announced the end of its armed activities in Türkiye.
Negotiations are currently continuing regarding the integration of the SDF in northern Syria into the Syrian army, following a memorandum signed in March.
